SAATCHI GALLERY FINDS | BLOGRUARY DAY / 1

what the heck is blogruary?....
is what you may ask. Well it's basically the same thing as when people do 'vlogtober' etc, but this is purely for bloging and in the month of February, hence the 'blogruary'. It did take me a while to get used to the name but I was so eager to start this attempt at blogging everyday for a month that the name has now grown on me... hopefully by the end of the month, you'll be wishing for more, if you've not become sick of me!

To start us off, I thought I'd share my visit to the Saatchi Gallery on Kings Rd. It has been a favourite gallery of mine since I was young; always great for contemporary artist research and if your really looking to find unique pieces of art, you'd either find it her or at Tate Britain. It's an amazing space and I never leave feeling like I've wasted my time. I could spend hours starring at Art no problem!

They have two exhibitions currently going on at the mo...

the following photographs are from the Painters' Painters Exhibit which you can learn more about here and to learn more about Prints & Originals, here (the 'Last Big Mac' and 'Plugged In' Prints are my fav)

RICHARD ALDRICH

DEXTER DALWOOD

RAFFI KALENDERIAN

ANSEL KRUT

MARTIN MALONEY

BJARNE MELGAARD

DAVID SALLE

DAVID BRIAN SMITH

the following are now from other exhibits that finished but have one or two of the Artist's work still up in certain places in the Gallery...

ANNE SPEIER

JENI SPOTA C.

ALEKSANDRA MIR

PHOEBE UNWIN

RICHARD WILSON

and that concludes the ones I loved the most..

Remember Art is meant to get an expression out of you, rather good or bad, if you loved it or hated it, your reaction is what is wanted. so...tell me, what do you consider as Art?... David Salle's pieces in particular made me stop and stare for about 20mins along with a continuous sneak back to it in-between other paintings; I just loved it's complexity and the layers upon layers of mixed media...loved it. Made me think, and I believe, the best ones makes you do just that.

entry to the gallery is free by the way (bonus, I know)

until tomorrow...
love, Renae x
