Confidence w/ your Shrinkage

I used to see shrinkage as an inconvenience. The fact that I don't have one single texture throughout my hair, made styling even more difficult. But after getting more familiar with how to use certain products such as, coconut oil and Shea butter, I have learnt to manage the shrinkage.

You need to experiment with your hair, that is the only way you will be able to understand every kink and curl and be able to control it. Although natural hair is naturally rebellious when it comes to obeying the style you put in place; especially with all the weather changes, you just need to be confident and let your hair do what it wants to do.

Often, my hair never dries in time. It needs a good 1 and a half to 2 days to fully air dry all over. So I have to quickly come up with solutions to get myself out the house.

My most favourite hairstyle to do when shrinkage has overtaken my style is the pineapple; it looks wild and beautiful and helps to stretch out the shrinkage throughout the day. I have also put half my hair up and let the front out to get the elongated illusion.

Love and embrace the shrinkage, no body is going to know that, that wasn't your intention.
